A report from Try Hard Guides claims that Hideo Kojima’s next project is a horror game titled Overdose.
Tom Henderson, the well-known leaker that wrote the report, claims to have seen early footage of the game that depicts “Mama from Death Stranding wearing a blue dress.” Henderson does go on to say that it’s not likely to be set in the Death Stranding universe and may simply be another character being portrayed by actor Margaret Qualley.
Continuing on, Henderson states that the footage shows this character traversing through dimly-lit corridors in third-person, armed with a flashlight. It’s also mentioned that the footage alludes to the game being playable in first-person as well, though it’s not explained in the report how exactly that’s suggested. A jump scare apparently closes off this footage, with the words “GAMEOVER” and “A Hideo Kojima Game”… “OVERDOSE” appearing on-screen.
Obviously, none of this is confirmed as of yet, but Henderson seems to believe that we may get to see this footage when Overdose is revealed during Summer Game Fest or the Xbox & Bethesda Showcase.
It doesn’t exactly confirm anything one way or the other, but Henderson has also Tweeted that Kojima Productions requested that the article be taken down, a request that he denied.
Kojima Productions has since reached out after the publication of this article via email to ask for its removal.
