Death Stranding 2 Gets A Subtitle, A Release Window And A Lengthy And Confusing New Trailer…I’m In Love

Electric. Guitar. Gun.

Kojima Productions has revealed that Death Stranding 2: On The Beach is the full title for its upcoming package-delivery sequel, confirming a 2025 release window for PS5.

A new trailer for Death Stranding 2 debuted this morning during the PlayStation State of Play showcase, pulling back the curtain on the game’s subtitle and release window, but it did a whole lot more than that. The colossal, ten-minute trailer kicks off with a woman being removed from some kind of ink cocoon, sporting a few octopus features. This is quickly followed up by a baby spitting out a huge ship that houses Fragile and Sam Bridges. That’s within the first minute and I’ll tell you right now, things don’t get any less bizarre in the following nine.

Characters thought dead return with cybernetic bodies, wielding electric guitar guns, living marionettes get angry and snap at hands, and dialogue about beaches is thrown about like it’s supposed to make sense. It’s ten minutes of absolute insanity and I was howling in excitement the entire time.

Give the fever dream of a trailer a watch here:

Death Stranding 2: On The Beach will release on PS5 in 2025.

Do we all have our own beach? Is connection worth the price we pay? Is Troy Baker cooler with a guitar that shoots lightning? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
