Thank the deities, we finally have a firm (heh) confirmation on what the dealio is with doing the horizontal hula in the upcoming Starfield.
New details via the ESRB list a range of things that have impacted and shaped it M rating, including the mention of Blood, Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Drugs, Violence and of course, ‘sharing a bed’ with characters:
Small correction, the rating mentions "alien creatures" not necessarily aliens.

Some details are not surprising, such as the mention of futuristic laser-based weapons or robot and alien creatures serving as enemies – but it does make a brief mention of the core plot of the game! You will “Assume the role of a miner tasked with finding Artifacts across the galaxy”, which is about as simple and safe as it would need to be for a game that will likely end up in the annals of history as another Bethesda time destroyer.
Mention of lovemaking comes in the form of the following quote, which is just too funny not to share:
The game contains some suggestive material in the dialogue, and after sharing a bed with characters (e.g., “Life is a sexually transmitted disease that’s a hundred percent fatal”; “I’m all for getting a little wild, but next time let’s try it without the jetpacks”; “Talk about seeing stars, whew… that was amazing.”)
Sex. With Jetpacks. That’s some next level ugly-bumping right there.
The words “f**k” and “bullsh*t” also appear in the game, with the humorous censorship courtesy of the ESRB blurb. Seems that coarse language is timeless.
