Apex Legends: The Board Game Has Been Announced; Hitting Kickstarter In May

The Outlands are hitting tables soon

EA and Respawn Entertainment have announced Apex Legends: The Board Game, an adaptation of the battle royale video game, with its Kickstarter campaign going live on May 17.

EA and Respawn have announced a long-term partnership with tabletop studio Glass Cannon Unplugged and tabletop publisher Genuine to adapt the hugely popular online shooter into a competitive board game.

While we don’t have any specifics just yet, we do know that the Apex Legends: The Board game will be a tactical miniatures game for two-to-four players, with each person taking the role of Gibraltar, Wraith, Bloodhound or Bangalore as they attempt to gather loot and take out the opposition. According to the announcement, gameplay “begins in a fully-immersive, three-dimensional environment taken straight from the screen. Every decision matters as teams must modify tactics and outmaneuver opponents based upon the Legends and finite resources in play.”

While only four Legends are in the base game, others will be available as add-ons during the Kickstarter campaign, alongside additional modular maps that will expand the gameplay experience.
