Cyberpunk 2077 Has A Live Action Project In The Works

An anime was just the beginning

Not content with having just dropped a banger expansion for the game, CD Projekt has also announced that Cyberpunk 2077 is jumping into the realm of live action, partnering up to bring the property to the screen.

The production partner for the project is non other than Anonymous Content, known for their tv series Mr. Robot and big films like The Revenant (which finally got Leo and Oscar) and Spotlight. CD PROJEKT RED makes mention that big names on the part of Anonymous Content include Director of Development Ryan Schwartz, and Chief Creative Officer David Levine, a 10-year veteran who is best known for overseeing properties like True DetectiveWestworld, and True Blood.

They also mention he was involved with EARLY SEASONS of Game of Thrones, a very deliberate clarification to make.

Obviously this project is still in early development stages – right down to there being no indication if the project is heading to TV or the big screen, it’s just that fresh.

The whole thing is planned to be carefully developed in close collaboration with the Cyberpunk 2077 creative team, ensuring that the onscreen depiction of Night City is going to be slavishly familiar. As far as settings go, it is a gorgeous landscape to tell some urban stories of neon nightmares – with a ton of potential to delve into existing characters, or even introduce new ones.

Whatever the plan, there is only one burning question on my end.

Who could they possible get to play Johnny Silverhand?

End satirical question.
