Spyro the Dragon Remastered Trilogy Reportedly Coming This September

My childhood, remastered

If new word on the street is anything to go by, publisher Activision currently has a ‘remastered’ Spyro the Dragon trilogy in the works for release in September of this year.

Citing sources ‘familiar with the project’, Kotaku UK reported early this morning that the original PSX Spyro trilogy is receiving much the same treatment as last year’s wildly successful Crash Bandicoot N.Sane Trilogy. Updated visuals and soundtrack are on the cards, but most interesting is the mention of potentially seeing cut content from the original releases make its way back into these new versions. The same report says that the trilogy should launch around September 2018 as a timed exclusive for PS4.

It’s exciting stuff for anyone who cut their teeth on early PlayStation platformers, and although it’s still just a rumour at this stage, Kotaku claim that a formal announcement will be coming in March so not long to wait to see if this one holds water.
