This Week’s PlayStation 5 Event Has Been Delayed

Players will have to wait just a bit longer

Less than a week after announcing its Friday, June 5 showcase of PS5 games, PlayStation has made the decision to delay the event due to the ongoing events in the US. A new date was not announced.

In a Tweet, PlayStation says that “we do not feel that right now is the right time for celebration and for now, we want to stand back and allow more important voices to be heard.”

The announcement comes a few hours after the official PlayStation accounted tweeted in support of the #BlackLivesMatter movement.

While it’s disappointing that we won’t get to see what PlayStation had planned for the event this week, there are bigger and more important things happening in the world right now. We look forward to seeing the PS5 in action when the time is appropriate.

We may only be a small fish in a big pond, but the WellPlayed team supports the #BlackLivesMatter movement and hope that the current events can lead to change for better for members of the Black community.
