Broken Sword – Parzival’s Stone Has Been Delayed

The adventure will have to wait

Broken Sword – Parzival’s Stone director Charles Cecil has revealed that the upcoming sixth entry in the popular adventure game series has been delayed.

The news was shared while Cecil was chatting with yours truly and WellPlayed’s Nathan Hennessy in a recent interview, with the legendary adventure game creator informer us that due to Revolution Software focusing on its upcoming 4K remake of the series’ original game, Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars, which has also been delayed (albeit a couple of months), Parzival’s Stone would no longer be releasing in 2024.

“That’s not gonna happen,” Cecil replied when asked if Parzival’s Stone would still be released in 2024 given Reforged has been pushed back from Q1 to the middle of the year.

“We are a small team. I have to say, and everyone says this in management talk, but we have a really experienced small team and it’s a real pleasure working with them. But, because we’re a small, we are spending most of our resources and our time on Broken Sword 1 Reforged than Broken Sword 6 at the moment.”

Announced at Gamescom 2023, Broken Sword – Parzival’s Stone will be the first new entry in the Broken Sword series in more than 10 years. It sees our beloved protagonists George Stobbart and Nico Collard entangled in a “terrifying conspiracy involving brutal treasure hunters, sinister medieval cabals, and the perplexities of Quantum Physics.” It features what Revolution is calling “super 2D” visuals, where hand-drawn backgrounds and 3D geometry are fused together to give it a unique look.
