Microsoft and Activision have announced that Call of Duty: Modern Warfare III, the most recent release in the series, is available to download and play on Xbox Game Pass right now.
That’s right, folks, the floodgates are officially open, and the first CoD game has hit the service. This seemed inevitable after Microsoft acquired Blizzard Activision King, with many expecting all of the currently available titles in the franchise to eventually make their way to Xbox’s subscription platform. As announced on Xbox Wire, the full game, multiplayer, zombies and single-player, is now available to Console, PC and Ultimate members.
This comes after two major developments. First, it was announced that the next game in the series, Black Ops 6, would be hitting Game Pass on day one (October 25). Secondly, the announcement from Microsoft that Game Pass would be getting a price hike and tier restructure.
The changes made to the service won’t affect this addition, however, as members of any tier will be able to download and play Modern Warfare III. We reviewed the multiplayer portion of the game, landing on a score of 7.5. We gave the single-player a miss this year, and for good reason, as many were severely underwhelmed with the slapped-together campaign that felt more like watered-down rounds of Warzone than a good old CoD shooting gallery with explosions and excitement.
