Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City Gets Its First Trailer

Return to where it all began

The Resident Evil movie adaptation, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City, has received its first trailer and it’s pretty damn great.

A new and seemingly more faithful adaptation when compared to the Mila Jovovich series of films, Welcome To Raccoon City looks to be plucking story threads from the first three games. In the trailer, we see the titular Raccoon City in a less than ideal state, with madness and violence starting to take hold.

We get a good look at characters such as Clare Redfield (Kaya Scodelario), Chris Redfield  (Robbie Amell), Albert Wesker (Tom Hopper) and Leon S. Kennedy (Avan Jogia) to name a few. A number of iconic locations are teased as well, including the titular town and the spot that started it all, the Spencer Mansion.

Of course, there are plenty of flesh-eating nasties in the trailer as well, including zombie dogs, a Licker and the good old shambling undead. We even get to see a recreation of the first zombie encounter from the original game which is a nice touch.

Give the trailer a watch:

Written and directed by Johannes Roberts of 47 Metres Below fame, Resident Evil: Welcome To Raccoon City will release in cinemas on November 24.
