Developer Respawn Entertainment has announced the Unshackled limited-time event for Apex Legends, running from April 19 until May 3.
The Unshackled event will see the return of the fan favourite limited-time mode Flashpoint. Taking place on the Olympus map, this mode sees all healing items removed from the loot pool, replaced with Flashpoint Zones around the map that heal you when you’re within them. Seeing as though health is fairly vital to winning, these Flashpoint Zones become hotspots for vicious firefights, so you’ll need to defend your healing oasis once you reach it.
As with every event, Unshackled will also have two trackers that will allow you to unlock event-themed cosmetics by completing event-specific challenges. Apex Packs, an Epic Seer skin, an Epic RE-45 skin and more can be unlocked through these trackers, so keep an eye on those challenges.
Lastly, the Unshackled event will feature 40 new event-themed cosmetic items that can be unlocked through the purchase of Unshackled Event Packs (one of which can be gained for free in the tracker), each of which will set you back 400 Apex Coins. If you’re not too crash hot on chancing it, you can always purchase a number of event-themed cosmetics in the store. If you are keen on dipping into the Unshackled Event Packs, you’ll notice that the Thematic Event Tab has had a bit of a facelift, making it much easier to understand and use.
