During Dead By Daylight‘s recent six-year anniversary broadcast, it was announced that the asymmetric horror game would be getting a…dating sim spinoff.
Yep, that’s right, the murderers and otherworldly oddities are taking a break from throwing survivors onto hooks to enjoy some romantic time away. Titled Hooked On You: A Dead By Daylight Dating Sim, the visual novel is set on the tropical Murder Island, as the player interacts with The Trapper, The Huntress, The Wraith and The Spirit as they attempt to get close to their hearts while attempting to keep theirs in their chest.
I know, I know, you’re wondering how this horror franchise can make such a massive genre hop. Well, don’t stress, as Hooked On You is being developed by Psyop, the team behind the equally as strange KFC sim, I Love You, Colonel Sanders! A Finger Lickin’ Good Dating Simulator.
Here’s the synopsis straight from the official website:
“Your companions: four dead-sexy Killers who, underneath their murderous exteriors, just want a little romance. Flirt your way into their hearts, uncovering dark twists along the way. Will you find true love, forge friendships… or get hacked to death? Only you can decide.”
The sexy game doesn’t have a set release date just yet, but it’s scheduled for a steamy launch on Steam later this year.
