It is currently the longest drought between standard Nintendo Directs ever, we haven’t had one since September 2019. We have had a couple of game-specific Directs for sure, but many fans are starving for a true Direct. A Indie World Showcase livestream has just been announced for the morning of March 18 (4am AEDT, 1am AWST), and will last roughly 20 minutes. The timing of this stream is interesting after a rumor floated around recently that a Nindies stream would be in a week or so time followed by a full Direct. Hopefully this will happen but we will have to wait for a formal announcement.
