Astral Chain Is A New Switch Exclusive From PlatinumGames

WHERE’S BAYONETTA 3

Nintendo’s very special Direct today brought us some great surprise announcements, and this one’s sure to please fans of Platinum and Hideki Kamiya, creators of the Bayonetta games.

From Nintendo:

ASTRAL CHAIN is a new action game from PlatinumGames, directed by Takahisa Taura, known for his work as the game designer on NieR:Automata, and supervised by Hideki Kamiya, creator of the Bayonetta series. As part of a police special forces unit in a multi-cultural futuristic city, players work together with a special living weapon, the Legion, in a synergetic action system of battle and exploration. More details about this Nintendo Switch exclusive will be revealed in the future. ASTRAL CHAIN launches exclusively for Nintendo Switch on 30th August.

Knowing that any mention of anything to do with Bayonetta would probably get fans all hot and bothered, Nintendo did mention Bayonetta 3 very briefly alongside this announcement, essentially just reassuring everyone that it’s still very much a thing. Check out the trailer for Astral Chain below:
