Universal Happymaker has announced the release date for its upcoming game Astronaut: The Best, which will hit Steam on August 15.
Tasked with running a space academy and turning screwups into heroes, you’ll need to recruit and teach procedurally generated characters to overcome challenges, perform on national TV, and be the damn best cadet they can be. You’ll need to use a range of tactics, including witchcraft and deceit, to get the good done, and if you don’t get results, your bosses will have you ‘replaced’.
Characters will have personality traits that need to be uncovered, while the choices you make will, shape the path they take. It’s got a neat cartoon art style, and the developer is promising a roguelite narrative full of humour and twists.
Universal Happymaker has spent the past eight years working on Astronaut: The Best, with lead developer Mike Sennot saying that the team wanted to make an experience that was unlike anything else out there.
