Battlefield 1 Getting Collector’s Edition

This is going straight to the pool room…

Early this morning EA and DICE unveiled the next Battlefield game as the unimaginatively titled, Battlefield 1 (really? That’s the best they could come up with?). Like most big AAA titles, it wants to vacuum the cash from your bank account as soon as you’ve finished watching the trailer. How does it do this you ask? By announcing an exclusive’ or ‘limited’ overpriced collector’s edition that you can pre-order now, that’s how.

Enter the Battlefield 1 Exclusive Collector’s Edition:

You may be wondering what exclusive means; well according to the listing on online retail giant Amazon, the collector’s edition (this one in particular) is exclusive to Amazon due to the exclusive DLC included. A real bummer for all you Australian collectors. Unless of course you’re a real collector and you’ll happily pay the shipping fee to get it from the land of the free to the home girt by sea.

The listing, which you can view here, has a price of $219.99 USD not including shipping (converted it comes to $298.63 AUD). Amazon usually have three tiers of shipping prices/speeds. The cheapest appears to be $4.99 USD with your statue being on your shelf in 9-12 business days. The fastest shipping option will have you being the envy of all your collector buddies in 2-5 business days and will set you back $29.99 USD.

The exclusive collector’s edition comes with the following junk goodies:

  • Battlefield 1 Deluxe Edition Base Game
  • Collector’s Edition Statue (14″ Tall)
  • Exclusive Steel book
  • Exclusive cloth poster
  • Deck of playing cards
  • Messenger pigeon tube with exclusive** DLC content
  • Exclusive patch
  • Premium packaging

Currently there have been no details on whether Australia is receiving such a glorious edition. However, I have no doubt that EA will bring a similar edition to Australia.

Will you be pre-ordering a collectors edition of Battlefield 1? Let us know in the comments.
