For those keen to know more about the misbegotten dudes you get to play as in Borderlands 4, Gearbox has dropped some new materials to help you get to know one of them a little better – showcasing the unique summoning powers of the latest Siren-lady to join the cause: Vex.
Walking in the footsteps of other badass Siren-types such as Lilith and Maya, Vex is the next magic-wielding murder mistress to fill the role of “mage” in the Borderlands class list.
Where Vex differs however is the crazy focus on summoning helpful (read: hurtful) friends to take out baddies. Want a big scary purple energy cat? You can do that. Want to control shadowy clones of yourself? Sure, that is also a thing.
Or, just keep it simple and tear enemies apart with destructive phase energy. She can do that too.
In a neat twist, they have also dropped a proper character-centric trailer to give a little background to how Vex came to realise she is a Siren – during an eventful retail shift. Once again, my favourite trope of Borderlands is on full display: these people are just regular schmoes who end up in amazing situations.

We also get a teeny tiny taste of the other Vault Hunters at the end of the short, so here’s hoping that these character-centric “Meet The Team” shorts continue up to release. I wanna meet the huge bearded barbarian bro.
