Capes Is An Aussie-Made XCOM-Inspired Superhreo Game With A May Release Date

Not all superheroes wear capes, but these ones do

Aussie studio Spitfire Interactive and publisher Daedalic Entertainment have announced that Capes, its turn-based superhero tactics game, will release on May 29 on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, and PC.

Inspired by games such as XCOM and comics like Watchmen, Capes is set in a universe where the supervillains won and created a dystopian city named King City where creating superpowers is outlawed. However, a group of young heroes are fighting to take back control of the city, thanks to help from Doctrine – the last remaining Cape in the city. They must learn to work together to uncover The Compnay’s secrets and become the heroes King City needs.

Your team will feature up to four superheroes, with each superhero having unique abilities and powers, some of which can be unlocked as the game goes on with skill points. But more power doesn’t guarantee victory, with Spitfire saying that players will need to use strategy, teamwork, and make the right choices to ensure victory.

The Brisbane-based Spitfire Interactive is made up of former Defiant Development (Hand of Fate) staffers, including writer Morgan Jaffit.

A demo is available on Steam for those who want to see what the game is all about now, otherwise you can chuck it a Wishlist below:
