Classic Web Series Killer Bean Unveils New Game Trailer

You ever see a bean get suplexed?

If you are as ancient as I am, you may remember an animated short way back in the twilight years of 1996 – by the name of Killer Bean. It was a fantastic bit of online media during a time where seeing 3D animations wasn’t commonplace, starring a bean-person that was quite proficient in killing.

From the mind of Jeff Lew, Killer Bean spawned further sequels and ended up putting Jeff into the business of animation for huge projects like X-Men, Looney Tunes, The Matrix Reloaded and even the Transformers films.

And now here we are in 2023, and the mad bastard has only gone and debuted a full-on video game.

Beyond the gameplay trailer, a description of the game is available to calibrate your expectations:

You are Killer Bean, a rogue assassin who takes out the trash in this world, one bullet at a time. The procedurally generated story changes every time you start a new campaign in this first person/third person, roguelike shooter.

Procedurally generated, roguelike shooter sounds like a wild time – but also a hotbed for goofy content that may be half baked. Given that Jeff Lew has always been passionate about his egg-shaped friend, I’d have to assume that the game will deliver an authentic Killer Bean experience, whatever that may be.

Killer Bean is available to wishlist on Steam, with a release notice of ‘coming soon’.

What a time to be alive.
