Here’s a surprise and a half – in a blog post on the Remedy Games website, Game Director Mikael Kasurinen has revealed that the developer has signed a co-publishing and development agreement that will see Control both spun off into an in-world multiplayer title as well as receive a proper sequel.
Of the multiplayer game, currently titled Project Condor, Kasurinen describes being taken with multiplayer experiences in his youth and says that despite his career being focused almost entirely on single player titles to this point there are experiences that can only be delivered through social gaming.
In the post, the Game Director shared the below image, which supposedly says a lot about Project Condor. We’ll leave that up to you:
On the sequel front, much less has been said, though Kasurinen reiterates that Control is more than just “One location, character or story,” and that high-level talks with 505 have resulted in a future for the franchise with a new, bigger-budget entry on the cards. At this stage it seems that the sequel is nothing more than a handshake, but the fact that it’s happening is sure to be great news for fans nonetheless.
