Dungeons Of Hinterberg Is A Colourful And Stylish Action-RPG With Social Elements Coming In 2024

Get ready for a slaycation

During this morning’s Xbox Games Showcase, Curve Games and Microbird showed off Dungeons of Hinterberg – a colourful and stylish action-RPG and social sim set to release in 2024 on Xbox (including Game Pass) and PC.

Set in the upcoming Austrian alpine village of Hinterberg, players will assume the role of Luisa – a burnt-out law trainee who decides to take a break and re-energise by tackling the Dungeons of Hinterberg. Luisa will have access to swords and magic as she fights monsters and solves puzzles on her travels across Hinterberg’s idyllic landscapes. However, the game is more than just slaying monsters, with Luisa able to build friendships with the locals and other adventurers, some who will provide tips and tricks, while others are just there for a good time.

It’d be remiss of us not to mention how beautiful Hinterberg’s cel-shaded visuals look, which are full of colour and stunning detail. It’s super impressive.

On the announcement, Microbird Co-Founder Regina Reisinger said that their goal is to create a truly special place to explore: From the stylized art to the modern but fantastic alpine setting, Dungeons of Hinterberg takes you on a unique vacation jam-packed with monster-slaying and puzzle solving.”

Dungeons of Hinterberg was initially revealed in 2021 and has been on my radar ever since, so I was stoked to see it make an appearance during the Xbox Showcase. This is definitely one game to keep an eye on. You can add the game to your Steam Wishlist here.
