It’s that time of year again. That time when retailers start to play Christmas carols, when households debate whether it’s too early to put up their Christmas tree and when the organised members of society try to knock their Christmas shopping over before the hordes of last-minute shoppers take over the shopping centres in search of that perfect gift at the eleventh hour.
Thanks to the ever-growing popularity of sales events such as Black Friday and Cyber Monday here in Australia, a lot of consumers are looking to these sales to cross off a few wishes on many peoples Christmas lists. Or you simply might be treating yourself after a hard long year of doing whatever it is that you do.
Here at DYEGB we have combed the sales to find the best deals and gift ideas for Christmas 2017 to make the shopping process a little easier for you. We will continue to update this post as new deals are revealed. Who knows, you may even find a cheeky treat for yourself.

Gamory
Gamory is a local online-only store that offers that latest gaming gear and prides itself on its customer service. While Gamory may not be able to offer the cheap prices that some of the big-name retailers can, one benefit of shopping with Gamory is that they accept the popular zipPay payment method.
Similar to AfterPay, zipPay allows customers to purchase items before they pay for them.
zipPay highlights include:
- Buy now, and pay later
- No sign-up fees
- Digital wallet of up to $1000
- 100% interest-free
- $40 minimum repayment of your balance each month, if a balance is outstanding, a $5 service fee will be charged per month
- If the balance is paid off in time and no outstanding amounts are owing, no fees will be incurred
- Keyboard and mouse usage on the console
- Mod capabilities i.e rapidfire, quick scope, etc
- Remap buttons on your controller.
- Cross-platform controller use (e.g. PS4 controller on Xbox One, vice versa and a whole bunch of other combinations)
- Converts regular headphones to a headset
- Modular detachable design
Publishers have caught the festive spirit too, with many slashing prices on games, merchandise and other items.

PC digital stores are no slouches when it comes to sales, and I think you know who’s the prime suspect.
Steam
Steam’s sales are legendary. A bane to your wallet, but a boon to your backlog. The Autumn sale is on now, with all of the great deals you expect from Gaben’s miracle factory. You can check out all their deals here.
Good Old Games
GOG.com is an emporium for older games that began selling newer titles some years ago. They have a sale on now, and some of their deals are better than Steam. Blasphemy, to be sure, but you can see for yourself here. Many of their indie games come DRM-free, which means you can do cool stuff with them – like keep them on a thumb drive and play them anywhere!
Green Man Gaming
Another contender in the PC digital space. They’re offering great deals, plus an additional discount for VIP members! Go check them out here.
Cheeky Stocking Fillers
Grip-iTs (controller thumbstick grips) are a favourite of ours here at DYEGB and make a great little stocking filler. You can grab a 4-pack for $13.75 (plus shipping) and they come in a range of colours. Check out the full range of options from Grip-iT here.
