For the Forza Horizon series, the location is just as important as the fast cars that you drive. From the cobbled streets of England to the sun-soaked beach roads of Australia, the Horizon games have always impressed with their settings and Forza Horizon 5 looks to continue that trend.
Announced during the Xbox E3 2021 showcase, Horizon 5 will have players tearing it up in Mexico. We saw a glimpse at what we can expect from the E3 trailer, but developer Playground Games have now gone into some depth about the 11 unique biomes that will be included in the expansive map.
From beachy coastlines and dense jungles to vast deserts and urban towns, Horizon 5 might just have the most varied open world in the series to date. Adding to that variation is the return of seasons. As we saw with Forza Horizon 4, the seasons will dynamically change, altering the scenery and creating a fresh look and feel to the area. Each of the 11 biomes will react differently to the changing seasons, so seeing everything that the game has to offer will take a long while.
The biomes found in Horizon 5 will be:
- Canyon
- Tropical Coast
- Farmland
- Arid Hills
- Jungle
- Living Desert
- Rocky Coast
- Sand Desert
- Swamp
- Urban City of Guanajuato
- Volcano
Forza Horizon 5 release on Xbox Series X/S, Xbox One and PC on November 9.
