Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged Has Locked In A September Release Date

Write that down, write that down

Developer Revolution Software has announced that Broken Sword – Shadow of the Templars: Reforged will release on PS5, PS4, Xbox Series X|S, Xbox One, Switch and PC on September 19.

Broken Sword series creator Charles Cecil let us know back in May that Shadow of the Templar: Reforged wouldn’t be hitting its targetted June 2024 release window, but reassured us that “it is very close, we’ve pretty much finished.”

Well, the man wasn’t lying, as we now know that the 1996 point-and-click classic’s remaster is coming next month. Whether you’re a fan of the original, or looking to jump into the series for the first time, Reforged is looking like the place to be. The graphics have been redrawn in 4K resolution, which is being touted as 50 times crisper than the PS1 original.

It’s a good time to be a Broken Sword fan, with Reforged around the corner and the new Parsival’s Stone still in the works. Zach and Nathan recently had the chance to sit down and chat with creator Charles Cecil, who generously talked about revisiting games from the past and the new game of adventure games.
