Game Builder Garage Is Nintendo’s Own DIY Development Kit For The Switch

Now you can make a new F-Zero!

Nintendo has dropped a surprise announcement today with the reveal of Game Builder Garage, a do-it-yourself programming suite for the Switch that seeks to introduce coding and game development through a simplified process and hands-on learning.

Through interacting with charming characters called the Nodons, players will learn to build games in a wide variety of genres through simple coding statements in a drag-and-drop interface, in what looks to be a mix of Dreams and Roblox built on the very basic framework started by Labo Toy-Con Garage.

Check out the trailer below to see Game Builder Garage in action, and look out for it when it releases on June 11, 2021.
