Ghostrunner 2 Release Date Announced Alongside Three Different Editions

The ghost returns

Ghostrunner 2, the follow-up to 2020’s acclaimed entry, will release on PS5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam, Epic, GOG) on October 26 the game’s developer One More Level and publisher 505 Games have announced.

This time around, our Ghostrunner, Jack, ventures beyond Dharma Tower to take on a violent cyber ninja AI cult that has risen up. Ghostrunner 2 promises more of a good thing but better, with its fast-paced and challenging combat featuring new powers, traversal mechanics (including a motorcycle), upgradable abilities, as well as a deeper narrative and dialogue choices.

There will be three different editions available – Standard, Deluxe, and Brutal – with the following perks.

  • Base Edition (Digital and Physical) – Digital and physical preorders get the Traditional Katana Pack including two sword skins and two hand skins
  • Deluxe Edition (Digital) – Includes everything in the base edition, along with four additional hand skins, four extra sword skins, and a personalized hand hologram displaying their current username
  • Brutal Edition (Digital) – Includes everything in the Deluxe Edition, along with 48-hours  of early access starting Tuesday, Oct. 24. Brutal Edition also comes with the Season Pass (worth £14.99, featuring a new Game Mode and four Asset Packs), Animated Skin (Sword/Hand), and Motorcycle Skin

We were big fans of the first Ghostrunner, scoring it a 9 in our review, stating that “It can be a frustrating bloody thing at times, but when it picks up steam Ghostrunner is a balls-to-the-wall thrill ride that delivers on its cyberpunk stylings and repays patience with a dystopia-grade injection of dopamine.” Let’s hope Ghostrunner 2 can build on that type of experience.
