Ghostwire: Tokyo Has Been Delayed Until Early 2022

See you in 2022

Ghostwire Tokyo, the upcoming timed PS5 console exclusive from the Microsoft-owned Tango Gameworks has been delayed until early 2022.

Announced via social media, Tango Gameworks says that it wants to “get the game in your hands as soon as possible so you can experience the unforgettable version of a haunted Tokyo that we’ve been hard at work building. At the same time, we’re also focused on protecting the health of everyone at Tango.”

Tango finishes by saying that this new release window will allow them to “bring the world of Ghostwire to life like they’ve always envisaged it,” and that they’ll have more to show in the coming months.

Ghostwire: Tokyo was first announced at E3 2019 and was tentatively scheduled for a October 2021 release. The delay isn’t overly surprising given the ongoing challenges of developing games during the COVID-19 pandemic. Plus, with the end of year is already jam-packed with big releases, this may give Ghostwire Tokyo a better chance at standing out.
