God Of War’s Santa Monica Studio Is Working On “A Lot Of Different Things” According To Cory Barlog

Exciting times ahead

Santa Monica Studio’s Cory Barlog, the Director for God of War 2018, has hinted in an interview that the studio could be working on multiple projects.

Speaking to the Los Angeles Times, Barlog stated that Santa Monica is “spread out on a lot of different things,” though he wouldn’t elaborate on what exactly this meant when pressed by the interviewer. As the article points out, Santa Monica does have a smaller arm that publishes indie titles, so this comment should be taken with that in mind, but it does leave the door open for some exciting prospects now that the team has wrapped up development on Ragnarök.

With Eric Williams acting as the Director for Ragnarök, Barlog previously revealed that he has moved to work on other projects. At least one of the “things” Barlog mentioned is likely his project, so we’ll need to wait and see what else Santa Monica has cooking. A safe bet would be something within the God of War franchise, seeing as though the IP is red hot at the moment, but it’ll likely be a while until we get any official announcement.

Regardless of what the team is working on, Santa Monica has earned a rather excellent reputation with God of War (which we gave a 10) and God of War Ragnarök (which we gave a 9).

What would you like to see Santa Monica Studio work on next? Have you been playing Ragnarök? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
