Here’s 11 Minutes Of Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts Gameplay

Our first look at the series’ new direction

While the major festivities of E3 concluded earlier this week, the event floor was still buzzing with developer interviews, behind closed door showings and public hands-on demos.

One game that wasn’t shown during any of the press conferences was CI Games’ upcoming Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts title, the latest entry in the long-running franchise (and one of my faves).

IGN got the first exclusive gameplay demo, which was hosted by the game’s art director Rick Nath and played by senior level designer Daniel Sławiński. Nath explained that the studio had listened to feedback from players and scaled back the game’s world to deliver a tighter gameplay experience.

Gone is the open world that caused so many issues for Sniper Ghost Warrior 3, with Contracts focusing more on open missions that allow players to complete their objective a number of ways. The game uses a contract system instead of a traditional campaign, with players choosing which mission (contract) they’d like to tackle. Side-objectives will be available if players want to maximise their rewards. Each completed mission will yield different rewards that will allow the player to upgrade their skills and equipment.

Players won’t be alone on the map either, with an AI-controlled rival also present to complete their own mission. You can check out the gameplay video below:

Sniper Ghost Warrior Contracts will launch later in 2019 on PS4, Xbox One and PC.
