LittleBigPlanet 3’s Temporary Offline State Is Now Permanent

The online library of LBP3 content will not be returning

Back in January, the PS4 servers for LittleBigPlanet 3 were taken offline temporarily to solve an issue. Players were hardly concerned, because temporary things often come to an end – and a franchise like LittleBigPlanet lives and breathes on the online player creations, right?

Well the news today isn’t good, because that temporary status has been upgraded to a permanent one – citing “ongoing technical issues”.

The full breadth of the problems have not been revealed or explained, leave fans justifiably asking if the developers just “gave up”. For many this is the very definition of a death knell for the game, considering that the major attraction to playing the title came from exploring user generated content via the online library for the game.

The developers do mention that any downloaded user content will persist, but that’s a small consolation.

Rest easy LBP 3, we hardly knew ye.
