Magic The Gathering Welcomes Visitors From Cyberton In Today’s Release The Brother’s War

Magic, more than meets the eye

The latest Magic The Gathering set to release today is called The Brother’s War and features a retelling of a series’ defining conflict.  The Brother’s War is the second of a four-part storyline being told through set releases, a retelling of an epic war between Urza and Mishra with their magical mechs and arcane automatons.

Urza and Mishra’s dimension-shattering battle was last told in Magic’s second expansion set way back in 1994, Antiquities. By bringing back the storyline that tore open the multiverse, Wizards of the Coast are using this as an opportunity to bring the legendary first generation of the Transformers franchise into the fray. For the first time ever, Magic’s crossover series Universes Beyond will be natively integrated into a mainline expansion set to allow for the franchise crossover to be played in standard Magic formats.

Get lucky and discover your favourite G1 warriors of Cybertron in both set and collector boosters, which may also come in gorgeous borderless prints. I am beyond rapt to say that I have already drawn a borderless, foil Optimus Prime and want that bad boy framed and on display.

Check out a couple of these Transformers cards oozing those nostalgic colours, a retro-look artifact, as well as some of the imposing titans that will be dominating the lands during this sibling rivalry.

You can see more on the latest with The Brother’s War here, and prepare to roll out to your local EB Games or TCG dealer to get the latest boosters or pair of Commander Decks.

Is a mainline Transformers crossover enough to entice you back to Magic? Or even give it a go for the first time? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
