Metroid: Samus Returns Announced for 3DS

Metroid is back in force! Alongside the Metroid Prime 4 announcement, the series is getting a 2D revival as well! Samus Returns is a reimagining of Metroid II for the Game Boy – right down to the logo – released way back in 1991. In fact, it’s…older than me. The developer of Castlevania: Lords of Shadow is behind the game, which is appropriate given that both franchises make up the ‘Metroidvania’ genre.
