Developer Toge Productions has confirmed the sad news that celebrated Indonesian game developer, Mohammad Fahmi, has passed away over the weekend. He was 32 years-old, with no cause of death disclosed at this time.
Fahmi was best known for being the creator of the memorable 2020 indie game Coffee Talk. Part visual novel, part barista simulator, Coffee Talk was a hit with gamers and critics around the world and has a second episode releasing later this year. Fahmi was also the creator of the upcoming dating sim/rhythm game Afterlove EP, which is being developed by Pikselnesia and published by Fellow Traveller.
Today we received a devastating news that Fahmi, the creator & writer of Coffee Talk, has passed away. May his soul rest in peace, and our hearts are with his family and loved ones.
May all the good things he shared, story he wrote, live on with us forever.
Thank you, Fahmi.

The news of Fahmi’s death came from his Twitter account through a post written by his sister in Indonesian. Tributes for Fahmi have poured out across the gaming industry ever since. Hasnul Hadi, the head of PlayStation Studios Malaysia, wrote in a tweet that “Our industry has lost one of its brightest stars”.
Although Mohammad Fahmi was taken from us too soon, his sharp artistic vision, emotionally-rich storytelling, and significance to the Indonesian game development scene will live on. Coffee Talk told a beautiful narrative about people finding their purpose in life through the relationships they form and the dreams they fulfil. Afterlove EP is a “slice-of-life adventure about life, love and music” according to its description. It is slated to release in winter 2022 for PC, Nintendo Switch, and PS4.
Our thoughts go out to his family and loved ones in this devastating time. Rest in peace, Mohammad Fahmi.
Harry's friends got sick of him talking about video games all the time, so he decided to express his passion for them online. When Harry isn't cosied up with a good fantasy novel, chances are he'll be grinding his way through a JRPG or obsessively completing a metroidvania.
