Monster Hunter is a series that has seen monsters, dragons and all manner of beasts.
And now, Monster Hunter Wilds sees fit to add a demon.
The Monster Hunter Wilds x Street Fighter 6 Special Collaboration event will see layered armour added to the game to turn yourself into Akuma himself and your Palico into an amazing simulacrum of Blanka.
So, how does playing as Akuma work? Take a look:
There will also be some new outfits for your friends within the game, alongside fun new emotes. But the emotes aren’t just for show – interestingly enough, the developers saw fit to release a quick note for players, confirming that the amazing martial arts you see in the trailer are not just for display purposes.
Akuma absolutely can and will beat the snot out of whatever monster you are willing to face:
Yes, Akuma's fighting moves deal damage!

The attack power of these unique actions is determined by your equipped weapon and can be boosted considerably by equipping the full armor set over the layered version! pic.twitter.com/6a40Zgpbmy
It’s a great deal of fun to behold, and fits beautifully alongside previous collaborations of Monster Hunter games past. Seriously, this series was doing tie-ins well before Fortnite took over the mantle.
The free Akuma hunter layered armor with special actions and Blanka-chan Palico layered armor arrive on May 28, alongside a cosmetic collaboration paid DLC pack.
