It’s finally happened. Through a thick, 60-minute Direct showcase, Nintendo has revealed the release date and pricing for the hugely-anticipated Nintendo Switch 2 – among a heap of other information.
The big news, though, is that the Nintendo Switch 2 launches worldwide on June 5, 2025. That’s just over two months way!
The console will launch in two flavours, a standard box at an RRP of $699.95 and then a bundle that also includes a digital copy of Mario Kart World at $769.95, which was also fully revealed in the Direct. Crucially, both versions of the console are available to pre-order right now at local, Australian retailers, along with a number of games and accessories.
As of writing, both EB Games and JB Hi-Fi have opened pre-orders, so you can find links to both stores below along with the accompanying products that have popped up so far. Things are likely to be added as the day rolls along, and we may see more retailers lift the gates, but for now here’s what’s up:
EB Games Switch 2 Pre-Orders
EB Games is taking pre-orders for both Nintendo Switch 2 packages as well as games and some of the launch accessories. The consoles require a $50 deposit to pre-order.

So far, JB Hi-Fi just has the consoles and some games with accessories yet to roll in. Pre-orders at JB Hi-Fi incur a full payment to secure.
