There is something tranquil about fishing – just you, a rod and the water. It’s serene.
Unless you feel like some is watching you. Or something beneath the surface doesn’t want to be found.
Out Fishing is an upcoming first-person horror fishing game that seeks to reel in players with a remote lake and a terrifying mystery, where the catch of the day may well be something you’d rather have avoided.
Gotta love a talking fish giving you a dire warning. Take that Billy Bass.
It’s every bit a fishing simulator, with the trailer showing off all the ways you can manage your angling skills and upgrade your camp to be the nightmare of piscine things everywhere – before devolving into a more nightmarish hellscape of blood and dread.
It’s a great mashup, given that the chill routine of a fisherman is ripe for some creepy disturbances. Dredge did a great job of throwing a sea-faring fisher person into a cosmic horror, so Out Fishing looks to offer another opportunity to mess your trousers while trying to land the big one.
No release date is available as yet, but if you feel the siren call of frightful fishing adventure head on over to the Steam page and drop a wishlist on it.
