With the Season 2 content for Overwatch 2 literally hours away, game director Aaron Keller tweeted that Blizzard has made a change to where character unlocks appear within the free battle pass track, lopping 10 levels off the expected grind.
Initially players would need to hit level 55 to unlock a new Overwatch toy, and it was met with some fairly justifiable anger – Overwatch is a game with an ever shifting meta, and if you are missing the tools to join in you may well be letting your team down.
Aaron also dropped that a few of the weekly challenges within the game are now easier to complete, which will speed up the journey to level 45 even more:
Hey all! Quick update on some changes coming to Season 2. After reviewing data for Season 1, we're moving Ramattra in to Tier 45 of the Battle Pass and making a few more weekly challenges easier to complete. Excited for you all to see everything new in Season 2 starting tomorrow!

While many rightfully point out that tier 45 is still a hefty amount of grinding to do, I am happy to see feedback is impacting the game.
Overwatch 2 Season 2 drops December 7th.
