Overwatch 2 players are shocked and surprised today to see that a hot item from 2018 is making its way back to the in game store.
Way back when, Blizzard partnered with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation to offer a unique skin for Mercy that gave her some delightful pigtails and a pink outfit – with the proceeds for all sales supporting the foundation and the ongoing battle against breast cancer. It was a huge hit, and once the sale period ended many asked when it may return.
Well, given that it is now 2024 – the news wasn’t good. Pink Mercy became somewhat of a status symbol, and a problematic grey market erupted where people would spend a lot of money to purchase an Overwatch account that had the skin unlocked.
But, those days may well be coming to an end – because once more, Blizzard is partnering with the Breast Cancer Research Foundation and releasing a remixed and radical version of the skin, known as Rose Gold Mercy!
Guess who’s back 🩷

Arriving June 25 players will be able to pick up both the new Rose Gold Mercy Bundle and the original Pink Mercy skin, with all proceeds donated to the BCRF. The initial sale of Pink Mercy back in 2018 raised $12.7 million USD for the foundation, so it was no slouch. Given the update and improved bundle this time around, we may even see a bigger number. The store items are priced as follows:
- Pink Mercy skin for the original price of $14.99 USD
- Rose Gold Mercy bundle priced at $19.99 USD
Being that it is Overwatch 2 this time around, the bundle includes additional goodies such as hero icons and player banners – as well as some awesome sprays that both highlight the cool pink aesthetic of the skin and breast cancer awareness. As these items are designed to raise money for charity, you will not be able to purchase them with banked up Overwatch coins – you’ll need to fork over real world cash for a good cause.
For those that waited all this time (read: me) it is an epic way to support a great cause and finally expand your support wardrobe.
Did you miss Pink Mercy back in the day? Are you excited to grab her now and support a good cause? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
