Overwatch 2’s Newest Hero Enters Ranked Play Immediately

Venture will be hitting the ground (and digging it) right away

With Overwatch 2’s latest gameplay season dropping, players are looking forward to another competitive adventure coming their way.

But it turns out they may need to watch their feet, because Season 10 is bringing Venture to the game – and they do not have a waiting period to get involved.

The Venture Forth update for Overwatch 2 Season 10 bids farewell to the need to progress your Battle Pass to unlock new heroes. Initially you’d need to put in a little time to get your hands on a new character – a change that was brought in as part of the Overwatch 2 title update – and this obviously meant that not everyone would have access to the character. There was also the concern of balance and expectations for players within the competitive scene, so you’d only see the new face turning up in the Quickplay queue, a marginally less full-on experience.

However this is no more, as the changes to hero unlocks facilitate a simpler pipeline for players to get their hands on new drills – and a pretty spectacular test weekend painted Venture as a character that didn’t need many tweaks to be considered safe for release.

So if you are Venture-ing (heh) into the world of Overwatch ranked play, get ready for the drill that thrills – because they will tearing up earth near you right away.

Did you get a chance to try Venture during the test weekend? Are you ready to rev up your digging tools? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
