Persona 5: The Royal Revealed For PlayStation 4

Persona 5: The Royal Revealed For PlayStation 4

Atlus and SEGA have been teasing something Persona 5-related for a while, with a project that we knew up until now as Persona 5 R.

Today though, after a Persona 5 anime special, a teaser trailer was played that finally revealed the game to be titled Persona 5: The Royal. Not much else was made clear in the short video aside from a new female character (who may or may not be a new playable protagonist) and a platform — the PlayStation 4.

That’s right, those of us hoping for the reveal to be a Switch port of Persona 5 look to be disappointed, though nothing is ruled out at this stage, of course.

Check out the teaser trailer below:

The trailer seems to promise more information coming in a month’s time, on April 24, so stick around for that.

Kieron started gaming on the SEGA Master System, with Sonic the Hedgehog, Alex Kidd and Wonder Boy. The 20-odd years of his life since have not seen his love for platformers falter even slightly. A separate love affair, this time with JRPGs, developed soon after being introduced to Final Fantasy VIII (ie, the best in the series). Further romantic subplots soon blossomed with quirky Japanese games, the occasional flashy AAA action adventure, and an unhealthy number of indie gems. To say that Kieron lies at the center of a tangled, labyrinthine web of sexy video game love would be an understatement.
