Pinch Me, A Big Jurassic Park Survival Game Just Got Announced

Shockingly, it’s titled Jurassic Park: Survival

Jurassic Park is awesome. Interactive media is awesome. But these two rarely meet in a way that feels meaningful.

Today at The Game Awards, we got to see something I had long given up on waiting for – a Jurassic Park game that seems to immerse itself in the pants-shitting experience of surviving that godforsaken island, in the form of Jurassic Park: Survival:

At first, I jokingly remarked to my colleagues that this would be Powerwash Simulator DLC. Then, I saw our poor heroine running away from dilophosaurs and assumed it was a new chapter for Dead By Daylight. Then the T-Rex showed up.

Oh my lord. Could it be? No, of course not – I then immediately assumed it would be a VR on-rails experience, some kind of tech demo – we can’t be getting a AAA-grade Jurassic Park game in my life time.

A live service game? A multiplayer asymmetric survival title that will get abandoned within weeks of release?

No. It’s a full-blown solo survival game from Saber – literally set after the events of the very first film:

Return to Isla Nublar the day after the events of the beloved 1993 Jurassic Park film in an original adventure 65 million years in the making.

Survive thrilling first-person action as InGen scientist Dr. Maya Joshi, who was unable to evacuate Isla Nublar, in this single-player action-adventure game and discover a never-before-told story.

Through thrilling encounters, experience the wonder and danger of dinosaurs, each with their own distinct and adaptive behaviors brought to life by John Hammond’s vision.

I think I need to lie down. Or wake up. Something has happened here – and it is amazing.

Check out all the details at jurassicparksurvival.com – admittedly there aren’t many, but that comes with being a freshly announced game.

I am going to get a cold drink of water.

Reckon you can escape Isla Nublar? Let us know in the comments or on social media.
