Inklingwood Studios has announced that its point-and-click adventure Foolish Mortals has been given a release date of November 5.
Developed by husband and wife duo David and Sophie Younger, Foolish Mortals is set in Louisiana in 1933 and follows Murphy McCallan, who heads to the island of Devil’s Rock to search for treasure believed to be inside Bellemore Manor. The problem though, is that the Manor is haunted by the ghosts of a wedding party that vanished 30 years ago. So finding the treasure will mean getting to the bottom of what happened all those years ago, and maybe, dying as well.
The game’s Steam page states that players can expect classic adventure puzzles, more than 75 hand-drawn locations, a fully-voiced cast and a similar length as genre legends Broken Sword and Monkey Island.
Foolish Mortals started as a Kickstarter in 2021, raising AU$98,871, smashing its AU$24,386 goal, thanks to a pledge from yours truly, so I’m keen to get my hands on it.
