Pokémon Sun and Moon Are Smashing Sales Records

I’d make a Pay Day joke, but I coin take puns anymore.

Looks like the world can’t get enough of Pokémon Sun and Moon. In a press release from Nintendo, they’ve happily announced that the games have become the company’s fastest-selling games in Australia. Like, of all time. The game has been sold approximately 240,000 times in the fortnight after launch, a 67% increase over the last record holder, which was (funnily enough) Pokémon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire. This comes after news of Sun and Moon boasted similar performances in Europe and the Americas.

This is no real surprise: Pokémon has always been a hot seller for the Big N, and it looks like this gravy train isn’t stopping any time soon. The truly massive success of Pokémon GO probably didn’t hurt, either. As for me, I’m just glad that it’s a damn fine game.
