Princess Peach is long overdue for another solo adventure, and the trailers for Princess Peach: Showtime do NOT disappoint.
The initial reveal made it clear that the darling princess would be transforming her moveset by way of dressing up – and the latest Transformation Trailer further shows off her incredible range with awesome outfits such as Ninja, Cowgirl and Baker!
The awesome outlook shows that these outfits shape the core experience of the game by being themed around their environments – elevating the usual Mario-esque power up gameplay beyond slapping on a hat and chucking fireballs. Ninja Peach hides herself from enemies, and stealthily takes them out, Cowgirl Peach even mounts a steed to chase down dorks – and the brilliant Baker Peach works to decorate mammoth-sized pastries and baked goods. This is all accompanied by the stylish aesthetic of the stage-show backdrop, with wires and weirdness keep the production feeling grounded and real.
God I hope there is a script disagreement at one point in the game. Let’s get truly meta and re-cast someone halfway through the game.
Maybe Daisy can understudy for Bowser. What a world.
