Resident Evil 4 Remake Gameplay Looks Amazing; Collector’s Edition Announced

Nice to see you again, stranger

During this morning’s Resident Evil Showcase we were treated to a gameplay showing for the highly anticipated remake of Resident Evil 4.

The gameplay trailer takes place in the village area where Leon first meets the Ganandos and it looks incredible. Not just visually, but mechanically it looks like returning and new players are going to be in for a treat. We also got our first look at redesigns for several new characters including Ashley, Lord Salazar, Luis, and perhaps most exciting of all, The Merchant, who will have special items that Leon can trade for.

Capcom also revealed two new editions – the Deluxe Edition and Collector’s Edition. No pricing has been revealed, however Capcom did state that pre-orders would go live today.

The Deluxe Edition includes the following:

  • RE4 game
  • Extra DLC pack (contains costumes, weapons and more)

The Collector’s Edition includes:

  • RE4 game + steelbook
  • Leon figure
  • Extra DLC pack
  • Digital soundtrack
  • Artbook
  • Poster
  • Collector’s box

Lastly, Capcom announced that owners of the PS4 version of Resident Evil 4 will be able to upgrade to the PS5 version at no additional cost, before signing off with a new story trailer that you can watch below:
