Developer Ninja Theory has announced that Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II will be coming to PS5 later this year.
Senua’s second outing will soon become a multiplatform affair, having originally been released in May of 2024 as an Xbox console exclusive. A short video narrated by Ninja Theory Studio Head Dom Matthews revealed that PlayStation players can get their hands on Hellblade II “this Summer,” which should equate to sometime before August for us Aussies battling Winter at that time.
Matthews also alluded to “new features” coming with this version of the game but didn’t elaborate on exactly what those features would be. If you plan on playing or replaying the game on Xbox or PC, don’t stress; these mysterious features will also be heading to those platforms as an update. Finally, there was a brief mention of the PS5 Pro, so you can expect some specific enhancements for that beefy beast.

Our thoughts on the original Hellblade were almost universally positive, garnering a near-perfect score, but the praise didn’t glow so brightly for Senua’s Saga. In our review of the sequel, we said, “Senua’s Saga: Hellblade II is an achievement in visual fidelity but fails to define itself amid clumsy retreads and unengaging new ideas.” We gave Hellblade II a 6.
