Sonic Superstars, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name And Some Tabletop Heavyweights Are Coming To PAX Aus 2023

It’s shaping up to be a big show

PAX Australia has announced that publisher SEGA will be in attendance at PAX Aus 2023, showcasing Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name and Sonic Superstars, alongside several big-time board game publishers.

Adding to the stacked PAX weekend, legendary publisher SEGA has announced that two of its major 2023 releases will be gracing the show floor. Sonic Superstars, the latest platformer to feature the blue blur, will be playable on the show floor, prior to its October 17 release date. Shifting gears somewhat, the game with the greatest name in the medium, Like a Dragon Gaiden: The Man Who Erased His Name, will also be playable before it launches on November 8, bringing all of the Yakuza action to PAX.

Looking at the local level, Melbourne-based Ukiyo Studios will be on hand to show off a total of 15 titles from devs across Malaysia, Singapore, Indonesia and the Philippines, with everything from RPGs to restaurant sims.

It’s not all about the digital space, though, as we can also expect some exciting things from the tabletop area as well. Not only will Dungeons & Dragons, Magic: The Gathering, Dragon Ball Z TCG and One Piece TCG have a presence, but Star Wars: Unlimited will also be demoed for the first time on our shores at PAX Aus 2023.

Asmodee, the publisher behind huge games like Catan, Ticket to Ride and Arkham Horror will have a booth in the tabletop area, creating a huge risk for my wallet. Last but certainly not least, Phil Walker-Harding, the man behind Sushi Go, and Matt Dunstan, the designer of Fairy Tile, will be banging around, showcasing their newest games, with Dunstan’s being revealed during PAX weekend.

Phew, there’s a bit on this year, hey? What are you most looking forward to? Are you heading to PAX Aus 2023? Let us know in the comments or on our social media.
