Strong Bad Returns! With A Remastered And Expanded Flash Game Now Available

What on earth is a ‘Roomisode’

For all the deadset ancient web-walkers out there, you may remember a time where the internet wasn’t an endless cavalcade of content. You’d bookmark places where entertaining things would manifest occasionally, and excitedly check them from time to time.

One of these internet corners was the Homestar Runner website, home to goofy cartoons full of lovable oddball characters – amongst them the timeless Strong Bad. Mike Chapman was the brains (and voice) behind basically all of it, and he has delivered a return to this stunning world of amazing graphics in the form of Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate.

Split up into 3 ‘Roomisodes’, Dangeresque: The Roomisode Triungulate is a retro point and click adventure with incredible modern features, such as:

  • All new graphics
  • Animation
  • Cutscenes
  • Full voice acting
  • Intrigue
  • A ‘real grood detectimve’

It’s set to give Baldur’s Gate 3 a run for it’s money. Launching on Steam and Itch.io, the entire premise is simple:

Join Dangeresque, the world’s greatest private eye/crooked cop, as he puzzles his way through 3 bite-sized roomisodes in this classic-style point and click adventure.

In all seriousness, it’s a tongue in cheek return to a simpler time – put together with all the passion and creativity you would expect from the creative force behind Homestar Runner and friends. It’s dirt cheap, and will likely steal away an afternoon with its retro buffoonery.

It might also prompt you to check out Strong Bad Emails, from a time where receiving an electronic mail didn’t fill you with dread – and that experience won’t cost you a cent. What a great time.
