Tactics Ogre Remake Is Real, Releases November

Time to get tactical once more

After a number of rumours and leaks, Square Enix has officially unveiled Tactics Ogre: Reborn, a newly updated version of the SNES classic Tactics Ogre: Let Us Cling Together from 1995 and its more recent PSP re-release from 2011, and it’s heading to console and PC on November 11.

The tactical-RPG featuring turn-based battles has you playing the role of a soldier caught within a war across the land of Valeria, where various factions fight for control. Each turn you take will determine the path forward, with your choices determining what may happen next, and each battle a combination of patience and timing with your chosen army across an isometric playing field.

Fans of the original release can look forward to plenty of new elements including fully voiced cut-scenes, a modern control scheme, improved AI and a cleaner and updated visual presentation. The original’s class-wide level management system has also been changed to a unit-by-unit system, allowing you to build your army individually across equipment, skills or magic abilities.

There’s going to be a lot of menus

Tactics Ogre: Reborn will release digitally on PS5, PS4, Switch and PC on November 11, 2022. There’s no news of a physical release as yet but stay tuned for any updates as the date draws near.
