Foamstars Gets A Release Date And A Cheeky PlayStation Plus Inclusion

Foamuary, I guess

Square Enix has announced that the multiplayer shooter Foamstars will release on PS5 and PS4 on February 6.

Alongside the release date and a swanky new trailer, which you can watch below, it was also announced that the team-based title will be one of the PlayStation Plus Essential games for February. This means that between the game’s launch on February 6 and March 4, you can download Foamstars for exactly zero dimes.

Revealed during the PlayStation Showcase from May last year, Foamstars is a four-vs-four shooter akin to Splatoon, where players can shoot foam throughout the arena, building battlements and creating paths to slide around on. The game will include three modes upon release: Smash the Star, Happy Bath Survival and Rubber Duck Party.

Smash the Star will start as a deathmatch until seven enemies have been eliminated, at which time the best player on that team will be marked as the Star. It’ll then be up to the other team to eliminate the Star to win. Happy Bath Survival drops two players in the arena and sits the other two outside of it, with the first team to knock out the opposing team winning. Lastly, the Rubber Duck Party is a take on payload, where a huge rubber duck will need to be protected until it reaches the team’s finish line.
